Job Summary:
The Solar Energy Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems. This includes ensuring the proper functioning and performance of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other related components. The technician will also be involved in conducting inspections, troubleshooting system issues, and providing exceptional customer service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install and commission solar energy systems following industry standards and best practices.
2. Conduct regular maintenance and performance checks on solar panels, inverters, batteries, and related equipment.
3. Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
4. Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations during installations and maintenance tasks.
5. Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timelines.
6. Conduct site visits to assess potential installation locations and provide accurate estimates.
7. Assist in the preparation of project plans, including equipment selection, layout, and wiring diagrams.
8. Keep accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
9. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in solar energy systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems.
3. Proficient understanding of solar energy concepts, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, batteries, and related components.
4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety procedures.
5. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
11. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.
12. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
